DeSimone Consulting appoints seven engineers to associate leadership positions

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

New York, NY DeSimone Consulting Engineers has appointed seven engineers to associate leadership positions within the firm’s structural design practice. By expanding the firm’s core leadership team, DeSimone can more effectively serve an expanding portfolio of clients and a growing demand for structural design services in the U.S. and abroad.

DeSimone has expanded its scope of services to include forensic/investigative engineering, façade consulting, and risk management and construction claims consulting. 

Matthieu Peuler joined DeSimone’s NY office in 2003 and specializes in the design of reinforced concrete and structural steel high-rise, multi-phase, mixed-use developments. His projects include Madison Sq. Park Tower, a 777-ft. residential tower in Manhattan; City Point, a development in Brooklyn; and the Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park, a waterfront hotel and residential complex.

Calogero Castania joined the firm’s NY office in 2006 and has worked on some of the city’s most high-profile real estate developments including Zaha Hadid’s 520 West 28^th St., a condominium building; Inspir Carnegie Hill, a senior housing development in Manhattan; and The Forge, one of the tallest completed structures in Long Island City, Queens.

Hongbo Wang has been with the NY office since 2007. Wang has designed and managed some of the tallest residential developments in the NYC metro area including 220 Central Park South, a new 950-ft. tall structure designed by Robert A.M. Stern and SLCE Architects; 99 Hudson, officially the tallest building in New Jersey; and Millennium Tower Boston, a 60-story, one million s/f residential tower in Boston.

Amit Mavalankar joined the NY office in 2011 and has contributed to a number projects in both NY and New Jersey. His experience includes The Modern in New Jersey, a twin-tower developments; the Flushing Commons mega-development in Queens; and Neptune/Sixth, a transformative mixed-use development in Coney Island, Brooklyn.

Pratik Shah has been with the NY office since 2012 and specializes in the design of post-tensioned concrete structures, high-rise towers, and value engineering studies. His most high-profile developments in Manhattan include Rafael Viñoly’s 925-ft. tall tower at 125 Greenwich St., the Riu Hotel tower in Times Sq., and commercial developments at 510 West 22^nd St. and 860 Washington.

Rodolfo Medina, Jr., who has been with the NY team since 2013, has designed and overseen a number of high-rise residential developments in NYC. His recent projects include 111 Murray, an 800-ft. tall fluted tower designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and Hill West Architects; and in LIC, the 70-story 2 Court Sq. tower, and a 40-story tower at 23-01 42^nd Rd.

Sun Oh, located in the firm’s San Francisco office since 2013, has managed a mix of project types across the U.S. His current projects include the seven-acre Plaza Coral Gables; a two million s/f expansion of the Westfield Valley Fair Mall in San Jose, Calif.; and Turnberry Ocean Club, a 53-story residential tower currently under construction in Sunny Isles, Florida.
