DeRosa and Gomez join Racanelli Construction as assistant project managers

Melville, NY Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. has appointed John DeRosa and Kenneth Gomez as assistant project managers.

DeRosa brings ten years of experience overseeing all phases of construction, infrastructure, and core and shell projects for public and private sector clients. His skills encompass site safety/OSHA compliance; budgeting and cost controls; project bidding, estimating and proposals; change order management; subcontractor/crew supervision; submittal review/preparation; and project scheduling. He is adept at Auto CAD and is trained in Accubid, among other programs.

Prior to joining Racanelli, DeRosa served as a project manager with E-J Electric Installation Co. (Long Island City, NY) where he partnered with project team members, consultants and clients to build safe, high quality and profitable projects. Among the projects on which he served were: WTC Campus Security, Grand Central Partnership Business Improvement Districts and JFK Terminal 4-Bollard Installation and JFK ITS & VMS Integration.

He also served as a project manager/estimator with Gordon L. Seaman, Inc. (Yaphank,NY),  construction Inspector trainee with Nassau County Department of Public Works (Westbury, NY) and Electrician Apprentice with United Electric Incorporated (Westbury,  NY).

DeRosa holds a bachelor of science degree in Technology Studies from Farmingdale State College and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Construction Technology for the State University of New York at Delhi.

Gomez brings over a decade of construction experience to the role and a skill set which includes proficiency in various construction software programs such as Expedition, Primavera P3, FTP sites and PlanSwift.

Most recently, Gomez served as assistant project manager with Sandpebble Builder (Southampton, NY) where he performed a wide range of duties from managing open items, project submittals and drawings, to creating leveling sheets, take-offs, daily reports and schedules, as well as job site supervision, bid packages and requisition preparation.

In addition to his role at Sandpebble, Gomez served as a Drawings Clerk with Briad Construction Services, LLC (Port Jefferson, NY), where his role included handling drawing logs, submittals, RFIs, FTP and other tasks. He began his career in construction as a Helper with Northridge Construction Group (Grand Forks, ND).
