Consolo, Aquino and Maglio of Douglas Elliman's Retail Group complete leasing at Hillview Towers

With the signing of Capital One at 700 St. Nicholas Ave., on the northeast corner of 145th St., global commercial sales and leasing experts Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive vice president and Arthur Maglio of Douglas Elliman's Retail Group have successfully repositioned the retail profile of Hillview Towers, comprising the block-front that stretches along West 145th St. between St. Nicholas and Edgecombe Aves. in the Sugar Hill section of Harlem. With the addition of the bank, they have arranged approximately 25,000 square feet of space for seven tenants that include Sugar Hill Medical Plaza, Metro PCS, Smart-Aid Pharmacy, Unity Wines, W Dental and Dry Clean NYC. Hillview Towers is a well known full-service cooperative with 236-units. Built in 1964, it was part of an early Harlem renaissance and has long represented a strong residential base in the area. "This transaction is the proverbial icing on the cake," said Consolo. "Our goal was to bring quality retail tenants to a celebrated co-op and with this last lease, we have achieved it." Maglio said, "Hillview Towers has always set a gold standard in the area. But by refreshing the profile of its stores, we have brought additional value to the building's shareholders, and much needed services to the neighborhood." Over the years, the Douglas Elliman Retail Group has made a significant impact on shopping corridors throughout the district, including South, West, East and Central Harlem, as well as Hamilton Heights and Sugar Hill. Included in the transitional stores and restaurants they have brought to the area are H&R Block, Ottomanelli Brothers, Moe's Sneaker Spot, Pa-paya Seed, Harlem Wine Gallery, Maharajah Palace Restaurant. In addition, among the service-based, community-based and government groups they have introduced to Harlem are Tribeca Pediatrics, Central Park Orthodontics, Pono Learning, Sunshine Day Care, Children's Aid Society, AIDS Service Center NYC, Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention, Friends of the Children, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Internal Revenue Service. Consolo, Aquino and Maglio represented both the property owner, Hillview Towers, and each of the tenants in the transactions, encompassing more than 25,000 s/f of space.
