Braus and Levitan of Sierra Realty secure 10-year lease for Dave's Warehouse

Sierra Realty Corp.'s Peter Braus, executive vice president and principal, and Peter Levitan, managing director, have secured a 10-year lease at 123 Baxter St., between Mulberry and Centre Sts., for new 1,400 s/f streetwear/skate gear shop, Dave's Wearhouse. Sierra Realty exclusively represented the tenant and landlord, LPS Baxter Holding LLC, in the transaction. "Dave's Wearhouse will become the ultimate destination for distinct urban designs and top-notch skate equipment. The collaborative effort between Dave Ortiz, founder of Dave's Quality Meat/DQM, SHUT skateboards founder Kevin Carney and Victor Salerno, partner at DLA Piper law firm, will help position New York as the go-to place for life style clothing and skate gear," said Levitan. "The ground floor retail layout at 123 Baxter St. lends itself to the new store's creative build-outs, funky product displays and virtual walls that will feature a continuous loop of skateboard videos, exhibitions and competitions." Dave's Wearhouse will appeal to urban-savvy, price-conscious sneakerheads and skateboarders. Since opening its first store in 2003, Dave Ortiz has cornered the New York street-and-skate gear market with DQM and its butcher shop interior, walls lined with sneakers dangling from meat hooks and displays of funky t-shirts wrapped in butcher paper. Urban clothing lovers travel from all over to step foot into DQM and walk out with a fresh pair of kicks from the exclusive Nike and Adidas collections as well as G-Shock and Incase accessories. Founded in 1953, Sierra Realty Corp. provides commercial and multi-family property management services, office and store leasing, real estate consulting, advisory services to building owners and tenants, comprehensive construction services and acquisitions and investment advice. The firm currently manages 45 buildings, comprising 1,000 residential units and approximately 600,000 square feet of office and retail space in New York City.
