What recent project or transaction are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of working with SLT, a unique gym studio that ABS Partners represented at 1151 Third Ave. That was one of the first gym studios that our company worked with, and it led our retail team to really dive into the fitness industry, which is in its prime right now. We have since worked with other gyms around the city, including a crossfit-type studio and a variety of meditation, yoga and spin concepts. This work also helped us branch into the athlesisure industry, which is becoming increasingly popular in New York City and around the country. Last fall, we worked with Bandier to sign the company to its first New York City store, a pop-up shop at 915 Broadway.
Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why?
My dad has been the strongest influence on my career. I grew up in New York City, where he has been working in real estate for as long as I can remember. I was always exposed to the industry and to his work, which really sparked my interest in real estate. I was excited to have the opportunity to learn from him and work closely with him at ABS.
What is the first thing you do when you arrive in the office in the morning?
I get myself a coffee to start my day.
What time management strategies do you find to be the most effective for you?
I am naturally not someone who procrastinates. I like to make to-do lists and write down everything that I am working on in order to get things done in a timely fashion, which is crucial in the real estate industry.
What is the best advice you have received and who was it from?
My Dad once told me, "Things always work out for the best, so enjoy the moment, as this is all we have." And, "time kills deals."
List 3 women that you would like to have drinks / dinner with and where would you go?
1. A home cooked meal from Chrissy Teigen at her apartment
2. Lena Dunham at The Polo Bar
3. Anna Wintour in the Conde Nast cafeteria
What is your favorite quote?
"The true New Yorker secretly believes that people living anywhere else have to be, in some sense, kidding." ― John Updike
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a veterinarian.
