Austin named marketing specialist at Alcott HR

Farmingdale, NY Alcott HR, a provider of human resources outsourcing solutions, has appointed Mary Austin as marketing specialist. Her responsibilities will range from graphic design for various marketing communications materials including email marketing campaigns, brochures and the company’s website, to event marketing and social media support. She brings to her new position extensive creative skills including proficiency in leading design programs, logo creation, branding and collateral development, as well as social media, copywriting, photography and video production experience. Directly prior to joining Alcott HR, Austin served as Senior Creative Director with HJMT Public Relations, Inc. (Long Beach, NY), where she designed, coordinated and directed all creative work for the agency. During her tenure, she was involved in diverse projects, including: traditional print design, Web design, blog management, social media graphics design, branding, media buying, advertising copywriting, photography and video production. Austin began her career in February 2012 as a Page Designer with the Craig Daily Press (Craig, CO), primarily responsible for page layouts and design for the newspaper and its monthly magazine. Her skills earned her and the newspaper recognition and multiple awards in the “2012 Colorado Press Better Newspaper Contest” for: Best Editorial Layout & Design, Best News Page Design, Best Cover Design, Best Photo Essay and Best Photography Portfolio. In February 2013, she was promoted to graphic designer. Her responsibilities expanded considerably to include the design of digital and print advertisements, creation of logos, branding, copywriting, editing, and the management of various photographic assignments and special projects. Austin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communications from the University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC). While pursuing her degree, she served as a Student Graphic Designer at the University of South Carolina and as a Photography Intern with The Post and Courier (Charleston, SC).
