Armao, Costa & Ricciardi to take part in Canstruction Long Island

Armao, Costa & Ricciardi, CPAs, P.C. (ACR) and a group from Nassau Community College's Interior Design program have joined forces to take part in this year's Canstruction Long Island. The big reveal of the combined team's efforts will take place on October 25, at RXR Plaza in Uniondale at an awards gala. The exhibition of all entries will be on display at RXR Plaza from October 26 - November 7. Annmarie Standfast, Canstruction coordinator for ACR said "We are excited to be partnering with the Nassau Community College Interior Design team for this spectacular event. Together, we will make a substantial donation in the form of canned food and funds raised through the generosity of the clients and friends of our firm." Standfast adds, "As the coordinator for two years running, I am particularly happy to be a part of the Canstruction® mission: Lifting the spirits of those in need, raising public awareness, and most importantly, filling the shelves of local food banks." Canstruction is one of the most unique food charity in the world. For thousands on Long Island, the day begins and ends with the anguish of hunger. Canstruction Long Island is determined to end this suffering. At this event, teams are given 24 hours to defy expectations, logic and gravity as they build fantastic sculptures from thousands of cans of food. Driven by the knowledge that their structures will change lives, dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to bring their creations to life. The following day, the super-sized masterpieces are judged in a variety of categories as these unconventional art exhibits are opened to the public. The cost of admission: just one can of food. At the end of the exhibition, all cans are donated to Long Island Cares, Inc., The Harry Chapin Food Bank. The evolving relationship of environmental consultants and the lending community - by Chuck Merritt

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
