Armao, Costa & Ricciardi, CPAs, P.C. participates in "Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes" on Sept. 30th

Armao, Costa & Ricciardi, CPAs, P.C., exceeded the firm's fundraising goal at the September 30 "Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes" on the Jones Beach boardwalk. This is the firm's second year walking and fundraising. According to team co-leader, Rosa Arreaga-Negron, CPA, CFE, "My mother, Rosa Zambrano, has lived with diabetes for many years. The support of my co-workers, along with their families and friends, is very meaningful to me and my mother. She relies on insulin injections, diet and exercise to control the disease. However, it has been a difficult adjustment for her to live what most people consider a normal life." The Armao, Costa & Ricciardi walk team included 20 walkers - employees, friends and family members. According to the American Diabetes Association website, 25.8 million children and adults in the United States—8.3% of the population—have diabetes. Among the organization's ten 2012 organizational priorities are funding the most meritorious research grant applications to the Association; continuing to grow the Stop Diabetes movement elevating the sense of urgency for the diabetes epidemic; and aggressively expanding Association-wide efforts to combat discrimination against children and adults with diabetes. For over 25 years, Armao, Costa & Ricciardi, CPAs, P.C. has provided auditing, tax and financial services to family owned and closely held businesses, the construction industry, not-for-profit organizations, real estate owners, agents, brokers, developers and investors, labor unions, employee benefit plans, professional service firms and high net-worth individuals.
