400 Westchester Ave. awarded Office Building of the Year by BOMA

400 Westchester Ave. was honored as Building of the Year at the BOMA awards dinner, April 30 at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill. Acquired in May of 2007 by a private partnership between the principals of GHP Office Realty and Benerofe Properties (BGHP, LLC), the 62,500 s/f building on 32 acres was in total disrepair at the time of acquisition. The building now houses Fordham University, and has a brand-new facility for its Fordham Westchester Campus for the Graduate School of Business (MBA) Graduate School of Social Services, Graduate School for Education and master's degree program in the School of Education. 400 Westchester Ave. has undergone an extensive $15 million total renovation providing Fordham with the latest in green building technologies and the most current learning facilities available. The building features 26 newly designed classrooms with such technological features as smart boards, teleconferencing capability and brand new seating and learning areas. The building also has faculty and support space, a library resource center, a dining facility, and both indoor and outdoor meeting areas for student sessions. The Cardarelli Design Group was the architect for BGHP, LLC and Kouzmanoff Bainton of New York were the architects for Fordham. C.W. Brown Inc. was the general contractor for both BGHP, LLC and Fordham.
