Pragmatic business advisors and closers, we are known for effectively managing matters of any size or complexity so as to achieve each client's goals in a cost effective manner. Working closely with its lenders, investors, senior executives, general counsel, facilities managers, HR & finance departments and service providers/consultants, we take a holistic approach to each client's real estate site or holdings, understanding the business issues, as well as the priorities and perspectives of these stakeholders, to represent our clients' interests effectively. Active for many years in numerous industry sectors where our clients operate, we have acquired a comprehensive understanding of the real estate, finance and operational issues unique to those industries and the business challenges facing clients today. Dedicated to advancing our clients' business interests, we routinely advise them on matters resulting in: enhanced operations; creative solutions; and recognized cost savings - handling the negotiation and structuring thereof. We recently handled the acquisition by the world's largest gem-rating agency, of several floors in the transformative International Gem Tower (IGT) building, as well as the design/build-out of this raw space. Taking a number of twists and turns over the years from the initial term sheet to the final move-in, we utilized many of the foregoing skills in successfully closing this fascinating deal for our client. This deal, however, resulted in the even more transformative opportunity to use this IGT project as a focal point for NYCREW Network's 3rd "DIG This" Career Day, a remarkable career education and mentoring program designed to develop relationships Inspiring young women to Grow. Conducted by NYCREW through the national CREW Careers: Building Opportunities Program, this career day event included a tour by NYC girls of the IGT building, followed by, at host Crowell's offices, participation on project development teams designed to encourage these economically disadvantaged young women to pursue careers in commercial real estate, while empowering them with other necessary skills to succeed. Crowell's support of the Program underscored its commitment to community service, while advancing women in commercial real estate. Crowell & Moring is delighted to congratulate the New York Real Estate Journal for 25 terrific years of adding value to NY's commercial real estate industry; and to express our appreciation for its steadfast support of the industry's women. Barbara Champoux, Esq., is a partner at Crowell & Moring LLP and a past president at NYCREW Network, New York, N.Y.
