What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? I am fortunate to work in a firm that employs predominantly women. Seeing women working at various levels made me feel like part of the industry right away. Diversity in the field (not only in gender) empowers people to work on what they love and feel like they belong.

What is one of the most exciting developments or innovations impacting the AEC industry right now?  I am excited about innovations in sustainability. Everything from the development of new products, to the shift towards using locally sourced materials to reduce the carbon footprint. I believe that exploring how to build better buildings for people while still not reducing the quality of their environment is vital to the architecture field.
