What has been the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in your career, and why?
The most rewarding project has been the $16+ billion Gateway Hudson Tunnel, where I lead the sustainability scope from AECOM’s side, pursuing Envision certification. As a megaproject with complex engineering, regulatory, and stakeholder challenges, it demands innovative solutions to meet ambitious sustainability goals. Its scale, legacy, and potential to transform regional connectivity and resilience make it a defining milestone in my career.
What skill or quality do you believe is essential for success in your field today?
Adaptability is the key to thriving in today’s CRE landscape — especially as AI reshapes how we analyze data, design, and deliver projects. Pairing technical expertise with the ability to learn new tools and pivot strategies allows professionals to anticipate challenges, seize emerging opportunities, and deliver lasting value in a rapidly evolving market.
If you could change one thing about the CRE industry, what would it be and why?
I would accelerate diversity in leadership. CRE shapes cities and communities, yet decision-making often lacks voices from women and underrepresented groups. Diversity drives creativity, fosters more inclusive outcomes, and reflects the communities we serve. By broadening access, mentorship, and visibility for emerging leaders, the industry can strengthen its talent pipeline and deliver more innovative, equitable, and sustainable results.
What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate?
Build your expertise and your network — both are essential. Seek mentors, embrace continuous learning, and be confident in your perspective, even when you’re the only woman in the room. CRE can be challenging, but it’s also full of opportunity for those who are persistent, informed, and collaborative. Your voice and skills can help shape projects that are not just profitable, but transformative.
