Judy Stevens

Power Connect Electric Corp.

What trends or innovations do you believe will shape the future of your field, and how are you positioning yourself (or your firm) to be at the forefront?

Over the years, we’ve embraced industry innovations, such as energy-efficient lighting and the growing need for EV chargers. We stay current by providing ongoing training for our electricians, ensuring we’re always ready for the next project. We also prioritize safety compliance as standards evolve. By staying up-to-date on the latest electrical trends and focusing on safety, we remain competitively poised and prepared to meet the demands of future projects. This commitment sets us apart in a rapidly changing industry.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry?

Throughout my career in electrical contracting, I’ve been inspired by the people I’ve worked alongside. Having multiple mentors has been invaluable in shaping me as a business owner. Working with principled, ambitious individuals who embrace the inherent risks of the industry has been instrumental to my growth. My advice to the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry is to stay authentic, conduct yourself with integrity, and trust that good things will follow.

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially valuing unstructured time off.

What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community?

It’s difficult to highlight just one project, as we’ve completed many across the five boroughs of NYC. What fills me with pride as a business owner is the number of repeat customers. Finishing a project is rewarding, but knowing our clients are happy and eager to work with us again is even more fulfilling. PCE’s consistent success in completing complex projects has helped us build a strong reputation in the industry, and we continue to thrive due to the trust and loyalty of our customers.
