What recent professional milestone or project are you most proud of, and why? I’ve been proud to support Bungalow Projects as they bring a major new film and TV production hub to Brooklyn. The projects were awarded NYC Industrial Development Agency (IDA) benefits earlier this year and will result in more than $500 million in capital investment. Along the way, I’ve helped Bungalow build relationships with elected officials and community partners to shape workforce programs that will create real career pathways for Brooklyn residents. The development is expected to generate hundreds of construction jobs, thousands of production jobs, and strong economic growth across the area.

Who has been pivotal in your professional development, and how have they influenced you? Linda Snead played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today. We were paired through the Women In Government Mentoring Program when I was a sophomore in high school. Linda was an executive with the Department of State’s Division of Community Service, and each month I met with her there to talk about school, career goals, and life. She taught me the value of hard work, being intentional, treating people with kindness, and staying true to myself. Linda passed away a few years ago, but I honor her by mentoring through the same program that helped launch my career.

What’s one challenge you’ve overcome in your career so far, and what did it teach you? Helping secure public approvals for World Trade Center Site 5 was one of the most challenging — and ultimately most rewarding — projects I’ve taken on. What was meant to be a nine-month process stretched to 2.5 years due to fierce opposition and shifting demands. I led over 30 public meetings to listen, respond, and build trust—often in rooms where consensus initially felt impossible. In the end, the project was approved, unlocking permanently affordable housing, a new community center, and proving that persistence and a willingness to have difficult conversations can drive meaningful outcomes.

What is your top advice for someone just starting out in your field? Treat everyone with respect and courtesy, whether they’re the most senior person in the room or just starting out. Titles change and roles evolve — today’s intern could be tomorrow’s executive or industry leader. Building genuine connections through kindness leaves a lasting impression and helps you create a strong, meaningful professional network. Remember, your reputation follows you everywhere, so make sure it opens doors, not closes them.
