Name: Jessica Wade

Title: Project Designer

Company Name: SWBR

How many years have you been in your current field? 6.5

List up to three CRE organizations that you are currently a member of:

  • AIA (Rochester Chapter)

Which of your philanthropic endeavors are you most proud of?
Community service has always been a huge passion of mine and something that I am extremely proud of. I volunteered for six years as part of the ACE Mentorship Program of Rochester which guides high school students in their career choice of architecture, construction or engineering. I currently volunteer at Gigi’s Playhouse of Rochester which is a Down Syndrome Achievement Center that educates and inspires children and young adults. Getting to work one-on-one with one of them really warms my heart and makes me feel like I am having an impact on their day to day life and their growth.

What does it mean to you to be a team player?
Being a team player is being able to be flexible, open, and establishing trust with your coworkers. Jumping into challenges together that may be risky, but can have a rewarding result because of all of the ideas that have been compiled with each team member. I think it’s also important to just have an overall “team attitude” and volunteer to take on different roles and responsibilities that can benefit the entire company and also help you grow in your career.
