What real estate associations or organizations are you a member of? The Real Estate Board of New York, Commercial Real Estate Women. 

How have you navigated obstacles to achieve success in your career? I have been very lucky from day one to the present to always be in a company where honesty and integrity have been the tenants, and as such, have always felt like I had more opportunities than obstacles. As an individual you ultimately govern your own success. I think you have to treat obstacles as opportunities to work hard, not get complacent, always look to improve and by making the most of every opportunity, and most importantly being honest and treating with respect the promises you make. Participating in industry organizations, gives me a tremendous resource to always find an answer for a client or colleague even if I’m not the one providing it. 

How do you play your strengths to your advantage in your career? By recognizing what drives me, and how I motivate myself, I am then able to focus on the person sitting across the table from me, be they a colleague or a client. Actively listening, being present in every communication is so important to both the moral of the person and/or the company and also then to the bottom line. I was given some sage advice several years ago, which served me well, when entering a new situation, really listen to what is going on before speaking, don’t rush to have your voice in the mix, it’s much more powerful, so much so that when you do say something people will listen.

What trends are you seeing so far this year? So far this year, there is a greater push for client transparency, we are seeing a tremendous uptick in people wanting to know about OneTitle since we are a disruptor in our field. By educating our network as to how we are able to file lower premiums and empowering them to have a choice based on cost. Trends in legislation are also increasingly consumer protection orientated and the burden on disclosures, etc., is certainly growing and will continue to do so across all professions.

What do you do for fun? I love to cook and entertain with my husband. We typically host Sunday night dinners where it can be from one to 30 of our nearest and dearest.
