11-20-2013 - BOMA/NY to hold Super Bowl Preparedness seminar

All the action may be in New Jersey at the MetLife Stadium on February 2nd, 2014, but the week before Super Bowl XLVII comes to the New York area for the first time ever, Manhattan will be the site of pre-game activities that will impact almost every aspect of life—including building operations. To help your building teams and corporate tenants prepare for the full range of events—from traffic and building access to tenant communications and potential incidents—BOMA/NY has developed this exclusive seminar: "Super Bowl Preparedness: Developing Pre-Game Strategies for Building Teams." It takes place November 20 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Club 101 at 101 Park Ave. A "tailgate" reception will follow and cost, including the reception, will be $100 for members and $165 for non-members. The content has been developed by BOMA/NY's professional development committee and will cover: * Scouting Report: Learn where and how Manhattan will be impacted by pre-game events, including traffic and transit challenges, malicious threats and how to mitigate them. * Building team: We'll identify the major concerns of operations and owners, managers, building staff and tenants; how critical building processes will be affected and how and what teams should communicate with tenants. * The stadium and fans: Hear from official sources about the resources that New York City will deploy and BOMA/NY's real-time information role. * Game plan: The nuts and bolts of ensuring continuous operations, from pre-game communications to incident response. The "coaches" include: Neil Spadaro, Boston Properties' director of security/former NYPD; SL Green's Pat Revellese, manager of the Year in 2012 (BOMA/NY & REBNY); John Farrell, World Trade Center security head, Port Authority/former NYPD; Kevin Peterson, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and OEM's Ira Tannenbaum.
