Sharma named associate in Certilman’s commercial lending group

East Meadow, NY Samantha Sharma has been elevated to the position of associate in the commercial lending practice group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP. Sharma joined the firm in 2011 as a law clerk, where she was exposed to all aspects of commercial lending and real estate finance. Her practice is focused on representing institutional lenders in financing multi-family and commercial properties involving middle market and small business borrowers. While working full-time at Certilman Balin, Ms. Sharma attended the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where she was a Research Editor of the Touro Law Review. During law school, Ms. Sharma was a member of the Honors Program and was a recipient of the Susan M. Dietrich Clyne Scholarship and CALI Awards in Legal Process I and Interviewing, Negotiating and Counseling. She graduated in May, 2015. In 2009, Ms. Sharma earned her undergraduate degree in English Literature with a minor in Peace and Justice Studies and Biology from Fairfield University under a full academic scholarship. At Fairfield, Ms. Sharma was actively involved in various social justice groups and contributed regularly to its student newspaper, The Fairfield Mirror. In her junior year, Ms. Sharma was an Associate Editor for Dogwood: A Journal of Prose and Poetry, a national literary magazine sponsored by Fairfield University. Before joining Certilman Balin, Sharma was a paralegal at two boutique New York City law firms practicing residential real estate and immigration. A member of the American Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association, Ms. Sharma is admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey. She is fluent in Hindi.
