New York, NY On Wednesday, March 27th, the IREM Greater New York chapter held a breakfast meeting at the Union League Club featuring a panel discussion about the latest rules and regulations about elevator door safety, especially in light of the January 1, 2020 deadline requiring all New York City elevators be in compliance with the new elevator safety code. Featured speakers were Joe Caracappa of Sierra Consulting Group; Rob Cuzzi of Van Deusen & Associates and Dmitri Dits of the New York City DoB. The room was packed; information was plentiful and members and guests left with a full understanding of what is expected of them as property managers when addressing the new elevator safety codes.
At IREM New York City’s February Annual Dinner & Awards, the organization held a raffle for two local charities. At the meeting on Wednesday, they presented each organization with a donation.
Jamie Dyce, executive director of The Pajama Program and Ana Fraioli, The Pajama Program’s New York chapter president recieved a donation of $1,480 from IREM New York City. The Pajama Program’s goal is to provide every child, regardless of circumstances, a good night’s sleep through donations of pajamas and books.
IREM also donated $1,480 to You Gotta Believe, an organization dedicated to finding permanent families for pre-teens, teens and young adults currently in New York City foster care. Bob Vacarello, president of RY Management and his firm matched IREM’s donation.
