Tarrytown, NY Over 150 members of Westchester’s commercial real estate industry were on hand May 10th for the 27th Annual Hall of Honor Awards dinner of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Westchester (BOMA) held at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill.
This year’s Hall of Honor Award, which is given to those who support and encourage economic growth in Westchester County, was presented to Hospital for Special Surgery and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
Accepting the award for Hospital for Special Surgery was vice president Jennifer Rentas.
Founded in 1863, Hospital for Special Surgery is the nation’s oldest orthopedic hospital. More than 30,000 surgical procedures are performed annually. HSS has been among the top-ranked hospitals for orthopedics and rheumatology for 26 consecutive years. The newest location, HSS Westchester, is the most comprehensive regional care center to date. Located at RPW Group’s 1133 Westchester Ave. in White Plains, the facility features 20 exam rooms, 3 x-rays and an MRI suite in what was formerly a data center space.
Accepting the award for Regeneron Pharmaceutical was senior manager Sam Cooper.
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals is a leading biotechnology company that invents life-transforming medicines for people with serious diseases. Founded and led for 30 years by physician-scientists, Regeneron’s science-driven approach has resulted in six FDA-approved medicines and numerous product candidates, all of which are homegrown in their laboratories. Last year, Regeneron received approval for expansion of its Westchester campus.
This year’s Best of BOMA Award winners were:
- Most Active Brokerage Firm Award was presented to Cushman & Wakefield. In 2017, C&W completed 63 leasing transactions totaling 456,595 square feet and 15 investment sales transactions totaling over $100 million in Westchester County. Accepting the award was Managing Principal James Fagan.
- Renovation/Capital Improvement Award was presented to Simone Development Companies for the Boyce Thompson Center, an 85,000-square-foot, mixed-use center of medical, office and retail space on the site of the former Boyce Thompson Institute property in Yonkers. Accepting the award was Guy Leibler, President, Simone Healthcare Development.
- Tenant Fit-Out Award was presented to Mast- Jagermeister US for its new headquarters in White Plains. The new space is designed to foster collaboration, innovation and creativity among the employees. Accepting the award was Chris Zaia of Scully Construction.
- Unsung Hero Awards were presented to Marcel Bullock of Securitas Security Systems/Cushman & Wakefield and Raul Martinez of ABM/RXR Realty.
