Yonkers, NY Ginsburg Development Companies (GDC) joined with mayor Mike Spano along with other city officials and dignitaries to celebrate the “topping off” of 1177@Greystone, a new rental apartment building in the Greystone neighborhood. According to previously published reports, the project cost is $12 million.
The topping off, which marks the completion of the final floor and roof of the building, was celebrated with the raising of an American flag atop the three-story building. GDC is also the architect and builder for the project. Located at 1177 Warburton Ave., a block north of GDC’s River Tides at Greystone rental complex, 1177@Greystone features 55 designed apartments with 10-ft. ceiling heights, windows and wide plank flooring. Kitchens feature Euro-style cabinetry, porcelain tile backsplash, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. Designer baths come with modern vanity, Kohler fixtures, ceramic wall tiles and porcelain floor tiles. Most apartments have bay windows and/or balconies with views of the Hudson River and Palisades. The one-bedroom apartments range in size from 715 s/f for a one-bedroom, 1.5-bath unit to 1,245 s/f for a three-bedroom, two-bath unit.
Amenities at 1177@Greystone include a club room for private parties and building sponsored events with complimentary WiFi; fitness center with available personal trainers; and a sundeck overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades. A fully enclosed indoor parking garage includes electric charging spaces and bike racks. Residents also have full membership privileges to the resort-class amenities at nearby River Tides at Greystone including outdoor pool, BBQ pavilion, a spa with licensed massage therapists, yoga and exercise classes.
1177@Greystone offers access to Manhattan, with Grand Central Station a 32-minute commute from Metro-North Train Station. It is close to the shops and restaurants.
“We are excited to reach this milestone event which signals that this great new addition to the Greystone neighborhood is rapidly nearing completion. Together with River Tides, 1177 will firmly establish the Greystone area of Yonkers as one of the prime luxury apartment living destinations in Westchester County,” said GDC principal Martin Ginsburg.
“1177@Greystone can now be added to the growing list of transit-oriented developments that are part of the great revitalization efforts we see here along the Yonkers waterfront,” said Spano. “Developers like Ginsburg have the vision to repurpose deteriorating properties into resort-style homes and reclaim our beautiful Hudson River views.”
1177@Greystone is the latest luxury rental development by GDC in the Hudson Valley corridor. GDC recently completed the first of two towers at River Tides at Greystone, a 330-unit rental located one block south of 1177@Greystone. Other completed GDC projects include Harbor Square in Ossining, The Lofts on Saw Mill River in Hastings-on-Hudson and Harbors-at-Haverstraw in Rockland County.
GDC is currently developing two major projects in Peekskill --- Fort Hill Apartments at the Abbey Inn, a $64.5 million mixed-use project that will transform the former St. Mary’s convent property into a resort-style tourist destination featuring luxury rentals apartments as well as a spa, inn and restaurant; and Gateway Townhomes, a new development on Main Street at the gateway to Peekskill featuring 16 rowhouse townhome-style condominiums.
Earlier this year, GDC purchased a 124-unit, 12-story rental building near the White Plains Metro-North Train station. The property has been rebranded as The Metro and is undergoing renovations including a new lobby.
