Manhattan, NY Thor Equities has leased 164 Fifth Ave. in Flatiron to Los Angeles-based women’s yoga clothing brand Alo Yoga for its New York flagship store, according to company executives.
Alo Yoga has signed a long-term lease for the entire 17,600 s/f, four-story retail and office building. The location will feature a multi-level retail and showroom space, as well as a yoga studio, café and juice bar.
“Flatiron is becoming increasingly popular with performance and fashion-forward brands, making 164 Fifth Ave. the ideal location for Alo Yoga to open its first New York store,” said Melissa Gliatta, COO of Thor Equities.
Among the stores that have opened in Flatiron in recent years are Sweaty Betty, Tory Sport, Lululemon, Nike Running and New Balance. Other recent additions to the neighborhood include the first Bonobos Guideshop, Frye, and Lou & Grey.
164 Fifth Avenue features double-height ground floor windows, and over 30 feet of frontage on Fifth Avenue between 21st and 22nd Sts. Thor owns additional Flatiron properties at 172 Fifth Ave., 139 Fifth Ave. and 933 Broadway.
