Manhattan, NY Clarion Partners has received LEED Platinum designation for its recently renovated headquarters at 230 Park Ave. The renovation was executed with the goal of creating a refreshing office space that promoted maximum health and productivity. According to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Clarionâ€™s renovation is one of 23 commercial interior office spaces to achieve LEED Platinum certification in the U.S. and one of only three in the city. One of the others is the observatory for One WTC. Sustainable Investment Group served as the LEED consultant for the project and provided fundamental and enhanced commissioning.
In order to achieve the LEED Platinum designation, points were accumulated based upon a number of factors including:
â€¢ All mechanical systems operate at peak performance to meet energy reduction goals.
â€¢ Green power purchasing.
â€¢ Proximity to public transportation.
â€¢ 98% of all jobsite waste was recycled.
â€¢ 30% of the cost of total materials contained recycled content; 52% was sourced from within 500 miles of the project site.
â€¢ Interior structural walls, ceiling tiles and 40% of the furniture was reused,
â€¢ Water use was reduced by more than 40%.
â€¢ Over 360 tons of debris was diverted from a landfill, representing a 98% diversion rate.
Clarionâ€™s Dallas office recently relocated to the top floor of 1717 McKinney Ave., a LEED Gold certified mixed-use project, which includes Gables Residentialâ€™s Park 17 luxury high-rise community. The Dallas office interior design, which includes glass walls and unfinished columns with ceilings open to the buildingâ€™s roof deck, was awarded first place for Corporate Office Design at the 2015 Texas Chapter of the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). As winner, the design will compete at ASIDâ€™s national Elevate Awards.
