New York, NY When MTV Networks, a unit of media giant Viacom, first discovered the building at 345 Hudson St. in New York City, they knew it would provide an excellent home for three of their key networks and state of the art production facilities. Bethpage, NY Swanke Hayden Connell Architects (SHCA), in conjunction with Cameron Engineering, has been awarded a contract to design the new $190 million New York State Center of Innovation and Excellence in Homeland Security.

RKT&B begins construction on $6.8 million project in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY Construction has begun on a three-story firehouse for Engine Company 201 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn - one of the first to be built under the auspices of the Design Excellence Program of the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC), according to Carmi Bee, FAIA, president of RKT&B Architects, the project's architect.
The $6.8 million, 17,000 s/f firehouse is being built on the lot of a recently demolished two-story firehouse, located at 5113 Fourth Ave.

MKDA designs 30,000 s/f office and laboratory suite for Stroz Friedberg

New York, NY Consulting and technical services firm Stroz Friedberg has expanded from 15 Maiden Lane in Downtown Manhattan to a 30,000 s/f office and laboratory suite designed by interior architecture firm MKDA at 32 Avenue of the Americas. Stroz Friedberg, which specializes in digital forensics, electronic discovery and private investigations in addition to data breach and cyber-crime response, will use the space as its New York office and corporate headquarters, according to MKDA.

Aragon Construction and Ted Moudis Assoc. complete build-out New York, NY Leading New York City-based general contracting and construction management company Aragon Construction, recently completed a full floor build-out for an international financial services firm. Aragon, working together with architectural and interior design firm Ted Moudis Associates, delivered the 8,000 s/f floor in only 11 weeks.
