Manhattan, NY Amsterdam-based youth apparel group Scotch and Soda opened its sixth location in New York at 416 Columbus Ave., on the southwest corner of 80th St., in a deal arranged by The Worldwide Leasing and sales team of Faith Hope Consolo at Douglas Elliman.

The opening comes ahead of Scotch and Soda’s runway show at New York Fashion Week on Sunday, which the designer paired with an extensive online campaign for its global customer base via its 200 stores worldwide.

“As a design house, Scotch and Soda is making a fashion statement at New York Fashion Week,” said Consolo, chairman of the worldwide leasing and sales team at Douglas Elliman. “For the fashionistas on the Upper West Side, the opening of their Columbus Ave. store is great news!”

The new store on Columbus Ave. follows the style set by its location that opened a year ago inside the former Cafe Angelique on Bleecker St.

Scotch and Soda has been expanding its presence in New York City under veteran U.S. chief executive officer Ari Hoffman. Hoffman was president and CEO of Benetton’s US operations and had been the US CEO of Gant, after working for Yves Saint Laurent for many years.

From an independent design house to corporate ownership, Scotch and Soda has been expanding rapidly as part of Sun Capital Partners fashion unit Kellwood Company, owner of fashion brands Rebecca Taylor, Parker, Devlin, Briggs NY, Democracy, Jax, Sangria, Jolt, Rewind, My Michelle, Baby Phat, Phat Farm and Sag Harbor.

At 416 Columbus Avenue, Scotch and Soda’s corner retail complements the other tenants in the building, Boutique On Columbus, Bit’z Kids and Pure Barre.

The Worldwide Leasing and Sales Team at Douglas Elliman exclusively represented both the landlord and the tenant in the transaction.
