BuildingsNY, one of the region’s largest gatherings of property owners, managers, designers, engineers, developers and architects, delivers solutions for building and maintaining smart, efficient buildings. A unique combination of exhibits, no-cost education and networking events, BuildingsNY is the must-attend event for building professionals.
This year’s event will bring together 6,000 industry professionals, including more than 350 exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies, products, and services for every phase of a commercial or residential building’s lifecycle.
To provide attendees with the most current and expert information, BuildingsNY has partnered with industry leaders (ABO/CHIP, AIA Contract Documents, ASHRAE, Con Edison, Connected Real Estate Magazine, Façade Tectonics, IFMA NYC, Hydraulic Institute, and NYARM) to curate the robust 2018 education program. With more than 50 free, accredited sessions in tracks ranging from environmental and energy management to design and construction and building automation, every building professional can arm themselves with the knowledge and credits they need to advance their career and keep their company competitive.
Two highlights from the 2018 program include keynote sessions that are relevant for all building pros:
- • “Building a More Affordable NYC” will be presented by Maria Torres-Springer, commissioner of the NYC Dept. of Housing Preservation and Development, sponsored by ABO/CHIP.
- • Learn from a panel arranged by Connected Real Estate Magazine and the Safer Buildings Coalition about “In Building Public Safety Coverage: The Key to Your C of O.”
Another top draw to the education program is the return of CityHall@BuildingsNY, which in 2018 will take place both days of the show. In addition to presenting topical seminars, four city agencies will host owner information tables, where they’ll answer questions and help resolve compliance, regulation and violation issues without pre-scheduled appointments.
On the show floor, attendees will explore emerging building technologies in the new Tech Tank pavilion. In this featured area, the latest and greatest startup businesses will showcase software or other new technologies that streamline real estate processes, monitor properties and analyze data or efficiencies.
BuildingsNY participants will also enjoy a new technology that they carry in the palm of their hands. A new online tool called “Buildings Connect” connects attendees and exhibitors based on product interests and offerings, enabling both parties to easily engage and schedule meetings at the show.
