Second Annual MIPIM PropTech Summit

New York, NY Reed MIDEM, the leading global real estate conference organizer, together with MetaProp NYC, the premier real estate technology nexus and early stage PropTech accelerator, announced today the keynote speaker and Advisory Council for the Second Annual MIPIM PropTech Summit on Wednesday, October 11. The Summit is the flagship event of New York City Real Estate Tech Week, a series of world-class PropTech events that will be held during the first two weeks of October throughout the city.

The MIPIM PropTech Summit will give attendees a first look at the technology companies and key players who are embracing and altering the real estate landscape. Attendees can showcase and sell products, network with potential clients, raise funds from international investors, and gain a better understanding of the changing real estate market.

Last year’s invite-only summit hosted more than 100 different tech companies and in excess of 500 attendees representing some 15 countries. In only its second year, MIPIM PropTech Summit is set to become a magnet for C-level real estate leaders and technologists from around the world who are interested in sharing and discovering the latest innovations.

“The MIPIM PropTech Summit will feature brilliant speakers, as well as the opportunity for founders, entrepreneurs, VCs and industry executives to exchange ideas at the highest level,” said Aaron Block, Founding Partner and Managing Director of MetaProp NYC.

This year’s opening keynote will be delivered by Al Goldstein, CEO of online lending platform Avant and Chairman of Pangea Properties. Avant, the leading provider of credit alternatives to middle-income consumers, has raised over $600 million of equity capital and has originated more than $4 billion in loans through the platform since its founding in 2012. Pangea is a vertically-integrated real estate platform that combines operational strength, technology, data analytics and investment capability to institutionalize previously inaccessible real estate assets. Since its founding in 2009, Pangea has expanded to more than 13,000 apartment units, launched a commercial real estate lending and credit business – Pangea Mortgage Capital – and generated more than $250 million in equity value for investors.

“Technology is greatly shaping all sectors of real estate,” said Goldstein. “The MIPIM PropTech Summit provides an innovative forum for real estate decision makers to discuss the future of the industry.”

Industry Leaders Advisory Council

To provide strategic direction for this year’s MIPIM PropTech Summit, Reed MIDEM and MetaProp NYC have formed an advisory council consisting of a diverse group of leaders in the real estate and technology sectors. The advisory council will be responsible for providing insight on the trends and issues that directly affect the industry, guiding the creation of programming aimed at addressing these topics.

“The formation of the advisory council will allow us to explore more deeply the unique and evolving relationship between real estate and technology,” said Filippo Rean, Head of Reed MIDEM’s Real Estate Division. “The support and guidance of this team of real estate and technology executives will be crucial as MIPIM PropTech Summit seeks to foster a discussion on issues of critical importance to the industry as a whole.”
