"Nataly and Julie are exactly the kind of brokers we're looking to recruit to Engel & Völkers," said Stuart Siegel, president and CEO of Engel & Völkers NYC. "They're savvy - they know the market, they have great connections and they close deals. Most importantly, they believe in the Engel & Völkers model and are eager to become part of our global network."
Rothschild has more than 15 years of experience in both residential and commercial real estate, having completed more than half a billion dollars in international transactions. She started her real estate career at Engel & Völkers' commercial division overseas. Prior to founding Rothschild Realty Associates, she led her own company, NW Real Estate Consulting, with offices in Berlin and Hamburg, Germany. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in real estate economics, as well as a master of arts in Political Science, Journalism and Communications from the University of Hamburg. Rothschild is a member of REBNY, the German American Chamber of Commerce, American Friends of Bucerius and the KinderLEBEN e.v., a charity organization for children with cancer.
Zelman first discovered her passion for real estate when, as a celebrity's personal assistant, she was charged with finding her boss an apartment. After completing this assignment, she began her career at Halstead Property, where she was a member of both the Producer's Council and the Platinum Circle - awarded to the top 20 percent of producers. From there, she worked directly for the developer The World-Wide Group, closing out sales at the luxury condominium The Milan, followed by pre-construction and on-site sales at the company's next development project, 255 East 74th St. Prior to founding Rothschild Realty Associates, Zelman worked successfully as an independent real estate broker while simultaneously volunteering in the pediatric unit at Sloan Kettering. She holds a bachelor of arts from the University of Michigan.
The duo first met when Rothschild moved to New York from Germany - Zelman was her real estate broker. When Rothschild founded Rothschild Realty Associates 18 months later, Zelman was her first call, and the two decided to be partners.
"We have found great success working together and have turned down offers to join larger firms in the past, but when we heard Engel & Völkers was opening in New York City, we knew this would be a special opportunity," said Rothschild. "With our knowledge and experience in the New York market and Engel & Völkers' international network, joining forces was a no-brainer. Having worked with the company in Germany, I knew the level of support we would be given as advisors, and the power behind the Engel & Völkers brand. We are especially excited to help launch and build Engel & Völkers' presence in New York."
