Albany, NY Environmental engineers at Stantec have been selected by Rockland County, N.Y., to lead a comprehensive watershed study aimed at improving the county's water quality and stormwater management practices.

The results of the study will help the county accurately identify the boundaries of the watershed and develop guidelines and uniform standards for stormwater management, which can be used for evaluating potential development projects.

"The County of Rockland views this as a key project in continuing its efforts to improve hydraulics and hydrology on a countywide basis," said Michael DeSena, Stantec project manager. "We are very excited to be part of this project and to help support the county's efforts to be environmentally responsible."

Stantec's area office employs about 75 people. Stantec provides professional consulting services in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management, and project economics for infrastructure and facilities projects. They support public and private sector clients in a diverse range of markets, at every stage, from initial concept and financial feasibility to project completion and beyond. Their services are offered through 9,000 employees operating out of more than 150 locations in North America.
