MKDA designs 30,000 s/f office and laboratory suite for Stroz Friedberg
Consulting and technical services firm Stroz Friedberg has expanded from 15 Maiden Lane in Downtown Manhattan to a 30,000 s/f office and laboratory suite designed by interior architecture firm MKDA at 32 Avenue of the Americas. Stroz Friedberg, which specializes in digital forensics, electronic discovery and private investigations in addition to data breach and cyber-crime response, will use the space as its New York office and corporate headquarters, according to MKDA.
"Stroz Friedberg digital forensics examiners work to extract and preserve sensitive information from computers and network equipment that can be used as evidence in major business litigation, therefore it was necessary that each element and feature of the space's design ensure the pristine conditions of a laboratory environment. Special design features, including security, lighting, online access and electrical accessibility, support these critical functions," said MKDA co-president Michael Kleinberg.
Designed using a clean color palette of whites and grays, the space consists of a 10,000 s/f dust-free digital forensics and electronic discovery laboratory, two private offices, workstations and common work areas outfitted with electrical accessibility where investigators can collaborate.
MKDA's design commenced with a complete gut demolition of the existing space and infrastructure and then worked with the raw shell to create a sleek, modern design that fulfilled each of Stroz Friedberg's space requirements: integrated security, soaring ceilings, exceptional lighting and a dust-free environment.
