What trends will impact your business in 2018?
I expect to see continued robust activity in the real estate marketplace, along with active construction for new developments as well as renovations. Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island City continue to attract heightened interest. However, owners and developers face ever rising costs due to an increasingly tight labor market, and increased expenses for insurance and building materials. These challenges will only be amplified if the Trump Administration moves its infrastructure plan into high gear, and businesses will have to be creative to address them in 2018.
